Visit the quaint little town of Murphy NC which is a few miles down the road. In summary, go here to stay at the hotel with its $49 per nite rates. Someone should tell the NC Gaming commission about this./ They have $10 blackjack plus a few funny table games which are probably also ripoffs after you learn to play them. A total ripoff, it's probably illegal, telling you that you have won a certain amount when you have not. You have won nothing! You win $3, they keep your original bet, so you have won $2. Jacks or better pays $1, however you bet a dollar, they keep the dollar & pay you a dollar. No entertainment, no swimming pool./ The big rip off is the video poker machines. The food is much better at a nearby Bojangle's. No restaurants or buffets, only 5 fast food joints.
The place sits on a mountain top, the mountain views are spectacular. The hotel rooms are excellent, new, modern. Was there on a weeknight, the place seemed deserted, very few customers, I'm sure it picks up on the weekends. The nearest airport is Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport, 87 miles from the hotel. There's a restaurant serving American cuisine, and free private parking is available. This 4-star hotel offers room service and a 24-hour front desk. I would rate the hotel a 5, the casino a 1. Featuring a bar, Harrah's Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel is located in Murphy.
